What we've done this year (so far!)

Hat day

People wore a hat to school for 1 dollar on May 25th.  Together we reached our goal of $200. The proceeds went to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Sci-fi Party

This year the spring party's theme was sci-fi.  During it we had costumes, karaoke, and our first Mario cart tournament. The proceeds went to pack leaders.  It was a lot of fun.

Winter Party!

On January 12 a Mansfield Middle School tradition took place, the Winter Party!  There was music, karaoke, penguin bowling, origami, snowball dodge ball, dancing, a scavenger hunt, and basketball.  In order to have gotten in you must have your permission slip plus $4 or $3 and a canned good by D lunch on the 12th.  All of the proceeds went to animal shelters.

PJ Day was on December 5th at MMS, going along with PJ Days in other Mansfield schools! We raised money to support children at the Connecticut Children's Medical Center with cancer and fighting other serious illnesses.

-  We raised $350 for hurricane relief through our Ice Cream Social to welcome our German Exchange guests and support our girls soccer team.  It was an awesome way to celebrate International Peace Day!

-Through Pennies For Warmth the MMS community raised $3,020.68 for the WAIM Emergency Fuel Bank.

Our various activities over last school year and this one have allowed the Mansfield community to make a $2,000 donation to Hurricane relief.  $500 will go to Florida, another $500 will go to Texas.  The final $1,000 will go to Puerto Rico.  All of these areas were hit hard over the hurricane season and this money will go a long way to restoring these areas.  Our selected charities are:

  • GlobalGiving
  • Save The Children
  • Medical Corps

Thanks to every one for their generosity.
