John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield

The Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Mansfield Community Center, and Town of Mansfield will host the 13th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield on Saturday, June 9, 2018. (The rain date is Sunday, June 10, 2018.)

The John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield offers a fun way to explore Mansfield's historic villages,* scenic roads, and new downtown! Choose from three different routes around town, all of which begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center. Enjoy riding around Mansfield at your own pace, and build camaraderie with fellow cycling enthusiasts while sharing a group lunch following the rides.

The Tour is presented annually by the Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Community Center, and the Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Inc.

*The Town of Mansfield's historic villages are: Merrow, Mansfield Depot, Mansfield Four Corners, Storrs, Gurleyville, Hanks Hill, Wormwood Hill, Mount Hope, Chaffeeville, Eagleville, Spring Hill, Atwoodville, Chestnut Hill, Mansfield City, Mansfield Center, Mansfield Hollow, Perkins Corner, Ridges, and Conantville.

Choose from three fun options:

7-Mile Campus Cruise
The Campus Cruise is great for more casual riders and for checking out what's new at UConn. This route will follow the Town's bike path on Separatist Road and the bike lane on Discovery Drive, which travels through UConn's new Tech Park. All riders will begin the 7-Mile Campus Cruise together at 10:00 AM and then ride at their own pace.

20-Mile Ride - Map
This route is a great option for getting a taste of Mansfield's historic charm while getting to sleep in a little more. All riders will begin the 20-Mile together at 9:30 AM and then ride at their own pace.

38-Mile Ride - Map
Our longest route takes cyclists all over Mansfield, on scenic back roads and brief stints on state routes. All riders will begin the 38-Mile together at 8:00 AM and then ride at their own pace.

Things to know before you ride:

  • For all of these routes, we suggest that participants have road-riding experience.
  • All participants must wear a helmet.
  • All participants must follow the rules of the road.
  • All of the roads are open to regular traffic, so caution is advised.
  • The new 20-Mile and 38-Mile routes feature a mix of local roads and a few brief stints on state routes.
  • Older children with road riding experience are welcome to ride with an adult.
