Applications for employment shall be accepted only for posted vacancies. Each candidate for municipal employment shall complete the official employment application. Resumes, transcripts, certifications and other materials may be required as is deemed necessary in order to judge the applicant's fitness for service with the Town. Applications shall not be returned to the applicant, but will remain on file for at least two years, after which they may be destroyed once approval has been received from the State Records Administrator. Human Resources may reject any application which was not filed by the announced closing date for receiving applications, unless prior to such date an extension had been publicly announced. Normally only applicants being selected for an interview will be contacted by human resources. Statement re: the USERRA.

Accounting Manager-Treasurer (Finance Department)

The Town of Mansfield is seeking an Accounting Manager-Treasurer to perform difficult professional and administrative work overseeing the Accounting and Disbursements Division of Finance.  Duties include planning, organizing and directing accounting, payroll and treasury activities. This position performs a critical role in the department’s financial reporting responsibilities, maintaining the General Ledger, overseeing accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining the Town’s treasury system. In addition to supporting the Town of Mansfield, the Finance Department supports the Mansfield Board of Education and Regional School District #19.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field. Candidates should also demonstrate progressively responsible experience in public finance administration, including supervisory experience. $62,371/yr, full-time position with benefits.

Youth Services Counselor (Human Services Department)

The Town of Mansfield is seeking a Youth Services Counselor for its Human Services Department to provide assessment of client (youth and families) needs, counseling, and to provide referral to needed and appropriate services such as treatment and rehabilitation services. Sample duties include: assessing client needs; counseling clients; case management; client advocacy; coordinating prevention programming; and coordinating positive youth development activities.

This is a full-time, year-round position. $51,470/yr with a benefits package. The selected candidate will work some weekends and evenings to accommodate client needs and Youth Services Division programming; ability to work a flexible schedule is required.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree supplemented by a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field. Considerable experience in counseling or case management required. LCSW preferred, not required. Possession of driver’s license required.

Seasonal Laborer (Public Works Department)

The Town of Mansfield is hiring seasonal laborers to maintain its roads and grounds.  Road duties include but are not limited to patching, flagging, ditchwork, etc.; grounds duties include but are not limited to maintaining athletic fields, flowerbeds, trails and mowing grass.  40 hrs/week, $11/hour.  Positions are for June-August 2013. Engineering Student Intern (Public Works Department)

The purpose of this job is to perform basic engineering work assisting in a variety of municipal engineering tasks. Duties include researching and developing information; helping plan and coordinate projects; inspecting construction sites; reviewing plans and specifications; designing elements of engineering projects; preparing maps; maintaining permit records and files; preparing engineering reports. Work is performed under general supervision. Position reports to the Director of Public Works.

The Town is seeking a student pursuing an engineering degree whom is currently enrolled in an accredited four-year program. An interest for pursuing a career in local government is preferred but not required. The student should have experience using computer-aided drafting and mapping software such as GIS.

Work hours are flexible, depending on student’s availability. Town Hall is open 8:15am – 4:30pm, Monday – Wednesday, 8:15am – 6:30pm, Thursday, and 8am – noon, Friday. The selected candidate will be expected to work 10-15 hours per week during semesters and full-time during the summer months. The pay rate is $15.00/hr. This is a part-time position with no benefits. The selected candidate is expected to begin work in early August 2013.

Aquatics Staff (Parks and Recreation)

The Town is currently seeking Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for the 2013 summer season. All applicants must hold current certifications in Lifeguard training, First Aid training, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Part time and full time hours are available for the summer season. Fitness Instructors (Parks and Recreation)

The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department is searching for new Fitness Instructors, primarily for strength & toning, hula hooping, and step classes.  Work schedule is variable including evenings and weekends, with possibility for more hours as subs are needed.  Hiring pay rate is $18/hr-$24/hr depending on certifications and experience.  Classes begin seasonally, currently accepting applications for spring 2013; application review will begin immediately.
