Applications for employment shall be accepted only for posted vacancies. Each candidate shall complete the employment application. Resumes, transcripts, certifications, and other materials may be required in order to judge the applicant's fitness for service with the Town. Applications shall not be returned, but will remain on file for at least two years, after which they may be destroyed with approval from the State Records Administrator. Human Resources may reject any application which was not filed by the announced closing date for receiving applications, unless prior to such date an extension had been publicly announced. Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Inc. - Transportation Coordinator

The Mansfield Downtown Partnership, Inc. is looking to fill a Transportation Coordinator position. This position will perform professional-level work managing the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center and a variety of transit programs Sample duties include: planning, overseeing, and implementing transit related programs such as the bicycle commuting program and regional bus service; supervising and scheduling staff; managing facility needs; managing contracts for service; preparing and monitoring revenue and expenditure budgets; working with the Mansfield Public Library to promote and enhance the Library Express (located in the Nash-Zimmer Transportation Center); assisting with various Partnership Board and Committee assignments; and general administrative duties.

Position is 30 hrs/wk. Hiring rate is $18.74-$20.67 per hour.  At this time there are no employee benefits provided for this position.  Candidates are required to have an associate’s degree in transportation, public administration, business administration, or a related field. Supervisory, transit related, and customer service experience are highly desirable.

Recreation Leaders

The Town of Mansfield is seeking summer (youth) Recreation Leaders to organize and lead middle school and high school age youth in an innovative award winning program.  Work will include 10-25 hours per week late June, July, and mid-August. One position will lead and support youth volunteer service projects with a local nature center, town parks and a horse farm. Additional work is also available in the Teen Center at the Mansfield Community Center. Candidates should have experience leading a diversity of youth, enjoy being outdoors, and hold a valid driver’s license. $9.60-$14.35 hr. dependent upon position, education and experience.  Interested applicants must submit an employment application at www.mansfieldct.gov/jobapp. Positions open until filled with priority review for applications returned 4/25/16. Parks and Recreation Department

Teen Center Supervisors – The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department is looking for energetic and creative individuals to supervise and help plan activities and events for pre-teens and teens ages 11-15. Successful applicants will have experience working with this age group.  There will be special events and activities all summer and possibly into the fall both in and outside the teen center which is located in the Mansfield Community Center. Fitness Instructors

The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Fitness Instructors, primarily for Aqua Power, spin, and strength classes.  Work schedule is variable including evenings and weekends, with possibility for more hours as subs are needed.  Hiring pay rate is 18.50-24.15/hr depending on certifications and experience.  Classes begin seasonally, applications currently being accepted for summer and fall 2016.  Application review will begin immediately.  Interview will include an audition class. Fitness Assistants

The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Fitness Assistants who will strive to maintain a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment in the Mansfield Community Center fitness center for our members and guests.  Handling and lifting various weight and fitness equipment is required.

As an employee of the Town of Mansfield you will be offered a professional orientation, flexible scheduling including early morning, evening and weekend hours, comprehensive staff training, CPR and First Aid certification training, uniforms, and a fun and challenging work environment.  All Fitness Assistants must obtain and maintain a current CPR & First Aid certification.  Opportunities for certification will be provided if necessary.  This is an entry level, part-time, hourly position with no benefits.  Pay range is $9.60 - $10.73/hr. Selected candidates will be subject to a background check.

Town of Mansfield - Parks and Recreation - Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

Mansfield Parks & Recreation is currently accepting applications for American Red Cross Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for the Summer Season of 2016 for both open waterfront and pool lifeguarding.  All applicants must be certified in ARC Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid, both Waterfront and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred.  Pay rates are $9.60-$11.07/hour for lifeguards and $10.23-$12.42/hour for swim instructors.  Applicants must submit an employment application online at http://www.mansfieldct.gov/jobapp. Positions open until filled.
