Town of Mansfield now accepting Applications for
Housing Rehabilitation Waiting List
In anticipation of a 2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the Town of Mansfield is now accepting applications from income qualified residents to be on the housing rehabilitation waiting list. The purpose of this Housing Rehabilitation Program is to provide low to moderate income households with a no interest loan in order to make repairs/improvements to their homes. Some qualified repairs include, but are not limited to, windows, siding, insulation, heating systems, roofing, and handicap accessibility improvements. Many types of homes are eligible for this program including single family, multi-family, manufactured homes and condominiums.

Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG)
HUD provides Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money to states, which may distribute the resources to non-entitlement communities like Mansfield (population less than 50,000). CDBG funds are administered through the State of Connecticut’s Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) for non-entitlement communities. CDBG monies are disbursed to non-entitlement communities such as Mansfield after a competitive grant application process. Projects funds can be used for an assortment of projects that promote and aid in community development, housing, and economic development activities that provide a benefit principally to low and moderate income persons.
