There are so many great people, organizations, businesses, and places in Mansfield, we just couldn't fit them all in one day!

CELEBRATE MANSFIELD WEEKEND

 

Friday, September 21 -- Sunday, September 23, 2012

The fun begins early with the Community Puppet-Building Workshop presented by the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry and the Mansfield Downtown Partnership!  Help construct puppets reflecting Mansfield's unique character and history, and then march with the Ballard in the Celebrate Mansfield Parade on Sunday, September 23.  The workshop is free and open to the public.  This activity is best for older children up to adults.  Younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22

Explore the Albert E. Moss Forest, Wildflower, and Wildlife Sanctuary
Come take a guided walk through the Albert E. Moss Forest, Wildflower, and Wildlife Sanctuary.  Enjoy the historic stone dam, Tift Pond, native flora and fauna, and the almost two miles of trails winding through this 135-acre village woods located across the street from the Mansfield Community Center.  Explore this natural treasure right in the heart of our downtown!  This event is free and open to the public.  Appropriate for families with children 5 and over.

Music @ the Market
Celebrate Mansfield with locally-grown and -produced foods from Storrs Farmers Market! Local musicians will provide the entertainment as you peruse the booths for the best quality fruits, vegetables, meats, and more!  Storrs Farmers Market is open rain or shine!  This event is free and open to the public.

Time: 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

Celebrate Mansfield Parade
Grab a seat on the street and get ready for the biggest parade in Town!  The Celebrate Mansfield Parade begins promptly at noon at the Storrs Post Office, marching north on Storrs Road/Route 195, turning left onto Bolton Road, and heading into the Festival grounds.  The Parade will feature the E. O. Smith High School band, local sports teams, community organizations, businesses, and more with the "Pride of Connecticut" UConn Marching Band!  This event is free and open to the public.

Ninth Annual Festival on the Green
The Mansfield Downtown Partnership is proud to present the award-winning Festival on the Green!  Visitors will enjoy musical performances, hands-on activities for all ages, games, art, and food - all provided by Mansfield-located businesses and organizations! This event is free and open to the public.
