11th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield
Saturday, June 18

May 20, 2016 — The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Downtown Partnership, and Mansfield Community Center invite bicyclists of all skill levels to participate in the 11th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield on Saturday, June 18, 2016 (the rain date is Sunday, June 19).

The John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield features three different routes for cyclists of all experience levels to enjoy the scenic beauty of Mansfield's villages* while also promoting fun and healthy social and recreational activity.

The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Community Center, and Mansfield Downtown Partnership host this ride annually in celebration of John E. Jackman, who served the Town for twenty-seven years and was a strong advocate for cycling in Mansfield.

This year’s participants have three rides from which to choose: A 40-Mile Expert Ride, a 20-Mile Challenge Ride, and a new 7-Mile Campus Cruise, which will follow the Town's bike path on Separatist Road and the new bike lane on Discovery Drive, which travels through UConn's new Tech Park.

All rides will begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road). All participants must wear a helmet and follow basic bicycle safety and the rules of the road. Road riding experience is strongly recommended. Older children with road riding experience are welcome to ride with an adult.

In addition to the rides, there will be a free Bike Rodeo for children. Learn about bicycle safety and basic riding tips, then test your new skills on our obstacle course. The Bike Rodeo is recommended for children 10 and under and is free, although registration is strongly encouraged.

Registration for the John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield is required; pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Participants who register by June 15 will pay $30; after June 15, registration is $35. Children under 18 ride for free. Registration includes snacks, ride support, and lunch. The first 100 adults to sign-in on the day of the event will receive a free, commemorative t-shirt.
