12th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield
Saturday, June 17, 2017

The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Downtown Partnership, and Mansfield Community Center invite bicyclists to participate in the 12th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield on Saturday, June 17, 2017 (the rain date is Sunday, June 18).

The John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield features three different routes for cyclists of all experience levels to enjoy the scenic beauty of Mansfield's villages* while also promoting fun and healthy social and recreational activity.

The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Community Center, and Mansfield Downtown Partnership host this ride annually in celebration of John E. Jackman, who served the Town for twenty-seven years and was a strong advocate for cycling in Mansfield.

This year’s participants have three routes from which to choose: a 7-Mile Campus Cruise, a new 22-Mile ride, and a new 43-Mile ride. The new 22-Mile and 43-Mile routes were designed by local riders to showcase Mansfield's scenic roads, historic villages, the UConn campus, and new downtown, Storrs Center. Both routes feature a mix of local roads and a few brief stints on state routes, as well as a couple of scenic, unpaved roads. The Campus Cruise will take riders over both bike paths and local and UConn roads.

All rides will begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road). Riders of each group will begin together and then proceed at their own pace.

All participants must wear a helmet and follow basic bicycle safety and the rules of the road. Road riding experience is strongly recommended. Older children with road riding experience are welcome to ride with an adult.

Registration for the John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield is required, and pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Participants who register on or before June 14 will pay $30; after June 14, registration is $35. Children under 18 ride for free. Registration includes snacks, ride support, and lunch. The first 100 adults to sign-in on the day of the event will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
