Applications for employment shall be accepted only for posted vacancies. Each candidate shall complete the employment application. Resumes, transcripts, certifications, and other materials may be required in order to judge the applicant's fitness for service with the Town. Applications shall not be returned, but will remain on file for at least two years, after which they may be destroyed with approval from the State Records Administrator. Human Resources may reject any application which was not filed by the announced closing date for receiving applications, unless prior to such date an extension had been publicly announced. Engineering Student Intern – Department of Public Works

The Town of Mansfield is seeking an engineering student intern to perform basic engineering work assisting in a variety of municipal engineering tasks.  Duties include researching and developing information; helping plan and coordinate projects; inspecting construction sites; reviewing plans and specifications; designing elements of engineering projects; preparing maps; maintaining permit records and files; preparing engineering reports.  The Town is seeking a student pursuing an engineering degree whom is currently enrolled in an accredited four-year program.  An interest for pursuing a career in local government is preferred but not required.  The student should have experience using computer-aided drafting and mapping software such as GIS.  This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $12 per hour. Temporary Housing Inspector - Building and Housing Inspection Department

The Town is seeking a temporary part-time housing inspector.  Duties include conducting site inspections and housing code enforcement activities. Considerable experience in code enforcement as well as good communication skills and ability to deal with the public required.

Salary range $23.41/hr-$29.78/hr; hiring rate DOQ.It is estimated that the position will require 10-12 hours per week on Thursdays and Fridays through the end of this year, with the possibility of the assignment being extended.Current state certification as an Inspector preferred. The selected candidate will be subject to a background check.

Storrs Center Ambassadors needed.

The Town of Mansfield is looking to hire 1-3 part time attendants for the Nash-Zimmer Intermodal Transportation Center in Storrs Center. Duties will include staffing the information desk located in the center, assisting with special events, assisting with litter and trash pick-up in the Center and around the Town Square, and assisting customers in obtaining transit information. Before and After School Staff: Looking for responsible people to work at the before and after school program held at the Community Center and Vinton and Southeast elementary schools.  Experience working with children preferred. Weekday early morning and late afternoon hours available.  Part-time positions, $9.15-$10.73/hr. Preferred candidates will be subject to a background check. Lifeguard and Swim Instructors

Lifeguard and Swim Instructor position openings. All applicants must be certified and hold current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid. Starting rates are $9.15/hr for Lifeguard and $10.23/hr for swim instructors.
