Applications for employment shall be accepted only for posted vacancies. Each candidate shall complete the employment application. Resumes, transcripts, certifications, and other materials may be required in order to judge the applicant's fitness for service with the Town. Applications shall not be returned, but will remain on file for at least two years, after which they may be destroyed with approval from the State Records Administrator. Human Resources may reject any application which was not filed by the announced closing date for receiving applications, unless prior to such date an extension had been publicly announced. Parks and Recreation Department

Mansfield Parks and Recreation is currently accepting applications for multiple positions with Camp Mansfield 2016.  Tentative camp dates are June 22 - August 12, 2016. SUMMER CAMP MANSFIELD POSITIONS

Employment and wages are based on prior experience working at camps (or working with children), related job experience, facility experience (i.e. babysitting in home vs. day camp at recreation center), supervisory experience, education, certifications, past job evaluations (for returning staff), and year working at the Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department. All pay rates are subject to change.

Camp Mansfield: Work hours consist of:

  1. The general camp program operates Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm.

  2. A before and after camp care program operates Monday – Friday, 7:30-8:45am and 3:15-5:30pm. Most general day camp staff will be required to work some camp care hours.

Assistant Director Assists the Camp Director in daily camp operations including administrative work, supervision and training of staff, coordinates our camp supports portion of the camp, which includes general assessments of special needs children (reviewing needs with parents and/or caseworkers) and supervising staff who will work 1:1 with campers, fills in for and assists specialists and counselors as needed, assists in planning of camp wide special events. Salary: $11.81-$14.35

Counselor-In-Training Coordinator/Head Counselor Works with young teens in grades 9-10 to develop skills in child development, activity planning, skill demonstration and organization and oversee and assist counselors. Salary: $9.74-$11.84

Kinder Camp Specialist Responsible for overseeing staff and program for children entering kindergarten. This half and full day program includes a variety of outdoor and indoor passive and active recreation activities. Salary: $9.60-$11.42

Camp Specialists Designs and conducts specific activities in conjunction with entire camp program. Nature, Arts & Crafts, Variety, Sports, Games, Archery and Kayaking/Canoeing. Designs and instructs specialized activities for all camper age groups. Salary: $9.60-$11.42.

Adventurer Specialists Designs and leads activities and trips with an adventure emphasis for children in grades 7, 8, & 9. Includes independent planning of two day trips and one overnight per session. Salary: $9.60-$11.42

Camp Support Specialists Is a 1:1 or small group counselor to children with special needs. Children participate inclusively within camp groups. Prior experience with children with special needs is helpful but not required. Salary: $9.60-$11.42.

Counselors Responsible for supervising an age group of children in grades K-6. Planning and leading a variety of passive and active games. Responsible for leading groups and participating in a variety of outdoor and indoor activities. Salary: $9.60-$10.73

 

Town of Mansfield - Human Services Department
Youth Services Social Worker

The Town of Mansfield is seeking a full-time Youth Services Social Worker for its Human Services Department. Sample duties include: assessing client (youth and families) needs; counseling clients; case management; client advocacy; coordinating prevention programming; and coordinating positive youth development activities.

This is a full-time, year-round position. Salary range is $54,910-$69,545/yr with a benefits package. The selected candidate will work some weekends and evenings to accommodate client needs and Youth Services Division programming; ability to work a flexible schedule is required.

Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree supplemented by a master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field. Considerable experience in counseling or case management required. LMSW required within six months of appointment. Possession of driver’s license required; public service license required within six months of appointment.  Selected candidate will be subject to a background check.

Town of Mansfield - Parks and Recreation - Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

Mansfield Parks & Recreation is currently accepting applications for American Red Cross Lifeguards and Swim Instructors for the Summer Season of 2016 for both open waterfront and pool lifeguarding.  All applicants must be certified in ARC Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid, both Waterfront and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred.  Pay rates are $9.60-$11.07/hour for lifeguards and $10.23-$12.42/hour for swim instructors.  Applicants must submit an employment application online at www.mansfieldct.gov/jobapp. Positions open until filled. Town of Mansfield - Parks and Recreation - Before/After School Counselor

Mansfield Parks and Recreation is seeking a Counselor for the Before/After School Friends Program. The Counselor must be able to communicate effectively with staff, children and parents; develop and implement program activities. The program runs Mon-Fri from 7:00-9:00AM and 3:15-6:00PM at 3 different locations; Southeast Elementary School, Vinton Elementary School and the Mansfield Community Center. Youth Basketball Referee and Gym Supervisor positions available with the Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department. Most work is available on Saturdays and Sundays. Basic training provided. Referees paid $20.00 per game. Gym Supervisors $12.00 per game.  December 5, 2015- February 21, 2016. Positions open until filled. .
