Planning and Development Department
The Town of Mansfield is seeking to fill an Assistant Planner position responsible for the administration and enforcement of planning and zoning regulations, ordinances, and other related codes. Sample duties include: preparing and implementing plans and studies; drafting and enforcing regulations; advising boards, commissions, committees and elected officials; serving as the Zoning Enforcement Officer; reviewing land use and zoning applications; issuing land use and zoning permits; inspecting properties for zoning and ordinance compliance; investigating zoning and ordinance complaints; issuing zoning violation notices and citations.
Position is full-time with benefits package. Salary range is $60,284 - $76,386 per year; hiring rate is dependent upon the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Planning, Community and Urban Studies, Public Administration or a related field, master’s degree preferred. Some professional experience in planning and/or zoning enforcement in a similar setting is highly desirable. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must possess and maintain Zoning Enforcement Officer certification and Connecticut DEEP certification as a Wetlands Agent; if selected candidate does not possess required certifications at time of hire, must obtain both certifications within 12 months of appointment.
Attendance at evening and weekend meetings and events is required as needed in support of the work of assigned Town Committees, Commissions, and Boards.

Senior Center – Human Services Department
The Town of Mansfield is seeking a program coordinator to assist with coordinating programs for the Senior Center. Sample duties include: planning and overseeing activities and programs for older adults; scheduling activities, programs and events; assisting in the supervision of program staff and volunteers; and assisting with budget monitoring of assigned programs.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required as this is a frontline position frequently interacting directly with seniors, staff, instructors, volunteers and the general public. Position reports to the Senior Center Supervisor.
Position is full-time with benefits package. Salary range is $23.76-$29.94 per hour; hiring rate is dependent upon the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Candidates are required to have an associate’s degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or a related field. Some experience working with seniors in a similar setting is highly desirable. Town of Mansfield - Assistant Animal Control Officer
The Town of Mansfield is seeking a responsible individual for the position of part-time Assistant Animal Control Officer for the Mansfield Animal Control Division. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting with the enforcement of state statutes and town ordinances pertaining to canines and felines; impounding unlicensed and roaming canines; caring for canines and felines housed at the Animal Shelter; preparing annual canine survey. Ability to work independently, good organizational and communications skills essential. This position is scheduled for 25 regular hours per week and on call 2-3 evenings per week (in order to respond to emergency calls). Salary range $18.78-$23.76/hr with a pro-rated benefits package. Must be available days, evenings, weekends and holidays and be willing to respond to emergency calls for service when needed.
Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or equivalent, valid Connecticut driver’s license, and some related experience in animal care or code enforcement required. Town of Mansfield - Parks and Recreation - Lifeguards and Swim Instructors
Mansfield Parks & Recreation is currently accepting
applications for American Red Cross Lifeguards and Swim Instructors to join our
team to start in late August and September of 2015 for our indoor facility. All

Waterfront and Water Safety Instructor certifications preferred. Starting rates

The Mansfield Parks and Recreation Department is hiring a Yoga Instructor to teach an All-Levels Yoga class Tuesdays 6:15-7:15 p.m. starting October 27th.
Minimum qualifications include 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certification and current CPR. Selected candidate will have extensive background in teaching all modalities of community yoga and the ability to modify workouts as necessary.
