3/1/2012 - MMS Students Collect Over 1000 Canned Food Items for Soup Kitchen

The week of February 13-18, 2012 was Mansfield Middle School Spirit Week.  At this time of the year we try to create a sense of community spirit by having everyone dress to a “theme of the day”.  These included days to dress as twins, as historical/literary characters or in pajamas!  But we also wanted to reinforce a sense of a wider community spirit, so we asked everyone to bring in non-perishable food to be donated to the Covenant Soup Kitchen.  Donations heated up when students discovered that our principal, Mr. Cryan agreed to appear at the student Pep Rally with his hair died blue if 1,000 or more food items were collected.  In addition, our assistant principal, Mrs. Candace Morell, and our guidance counselors, Mrs. Kristina Lee and Mrs. Eileen Melody, agreed to die their hair pink if the goal was met.

We did it! And here’s the proof…  Thanks to all for showing, once again, that MMS Cares.
