[ARCHIVED] MMS Teacher and former student selected for first-ever National History Day program

Jenn McMunn and Kalayani Tihaiya will represent CT at Young People's Continental Congress

Congratulations to Mansfield Middle School (MMS) Teacher Jenn McMunn and former MMS student/current EOS student Kalyani Tihaiya, who have been selected to attend the first-ever Young People’s Continental Congress in Philadelphia this summer! Hosted at the historic Carpenters’ Hall, the home of the First Continental Congress in 1774, with educational programming from @nhdcontest, this is an exciting opportunity for students and teachers to learn more about America’s founding.

Mrs. McMunn and Kalyani are representing the state of Connecticut as they participate in monthly meetings with historians to explore the legacies of the Continental Congress and the Declaration of Independence across U.S. history. The program will culminate in a week-long adventure in Philadelphia, with delegate sessions at Carpenters’ Hall and site visits to Independence Hall, the Museum of the American Revolution, the National Constitution Center, and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania
