Mansfield Public Schools, in partnership with the community, actively participates in an initiative called “Child-Find” which works to identify and serve children in the community who may be delayed developmentally. This is a nationwide effort mandated by the federal government to support children and early learning.
One of the ways Mansfield “finds” children who need services is to run a screening once a year. This year’s screenings will be held at Mansfield Elementary School on:
Thursday, May 29 and Friday May 30 by appointment only
If you are a Mansfield resident and have concerns about your child’s development please click on this link to select a time for the Child-Find Screening:

What will happen at the screening? The screening lasts about 30 minutes and includes the following:
● An observation of play skills, social interaction, and language skill
● A parent interview
Children aged 3 and 4 years are eligible for the screening (child must be at least 3 years old by the first day of school - 8/28/25)
