[ARCHIVED] Mansfield Avenue - Paving

The Mansfield Department of Public Works has hired a contractor to apply new asphalt to the street surface.  The paving project will begin at Pleasant Valley Road and head towards the Willimantic Town Line. This work is scheduled for Thursday, June 18th and will continue until Friday June 19th during the hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm, weather permitting. If this work is not completed for reasons outside of the Town’s control, the work will be completed in late August.

The asphalt for the bridges will be completed in August to allow time for the Connecticut Department of Transportation to complete their work on the bridges. Driveway aprons will be repaired or installed, as required. This portion of the work may not occur immediately.

We ask that you do not park on the road during this effort.  You will always have access to your driveway.  However, when the equipment is directly in front of your driveway, access may be restricted for a few minutes.  Please drive with caution during the course of this work.

We will place topsoil in any disturbed lawn areas and use hydro-seeding to re-establish any turf.  This portion of the work will occur a few weeks after all paving is complete.

If you have any questions, please call the Administrative Office at 860-429-3331.
