2020 Letterboxing Challenge
Get out and explore your parks! Mansfield Parks and Recreation is offering this new, great family friendly activity. There is no charge for participating. Packets are available the Community Center. Limit one per family, please.
Take a walk and using the clues in this packet to find letterboxes! Never heard of letterboxing? It’s like a scavenger hunt! This is a great social-distance friendly activity, that gets you outside.
Bring gloves and/or hand sanitizer with you and use before and after touching the box.
These letterboxes are in 4 of Mansfield’s parks.
When a box is found, use your hand sanitizer, open the box, use the rubber stamp to stamp the card included in this packet.
Optional: Write what you saw along the way on the pad in the box and read what others have written.
Return the ink pad, rubber stamp, notepad and pencil(s) to the box. Close the box and carefully put it back where you found it for the next family to find. Use that hand sanitizer again!
When you have completed these steps in all 4 parks, return your fully stamped card to the Mansfield Community Center by September 7, 2020.
All families to return the completed cards (all 4 stamps) to the Community Center will receive a family prize. Prizes will be awarded after September 1 and up until September 7 as they are completed and returned to the Community Center.
