Successful Solar for All program in Windham and Mansfield Extended
Due to strong demand, Solar and Energy Efficiency Program Deadline Pushed to October 31st
Sustainable Windham, Windham Energy Commission and Mansfield Sustainability Committee are pleased to announce the “Solar for All” program is being extended. Launched in June, the program makes solar more accessible and affordable to all homeowners through a partnership between the Connecticut Green Bank and PosiGen. With rising electric costs residents can benefit from the program. “Our residents got hit with a big electric bill during the heat of the summer. PosiGen offers a lower and consistent bill for the next 20 years by combining efficiency and solar energy,” said Jean de Smet, Windham Energy Commission.
The towns of Mansfield and Windham are participating in the Solar for All initiative to contribute to their ongoing sustainability efforts including verification in the Sustainable CT program, a voluntary municipal certification program. They are excited to bring this resource to homeowners to strengthen their households, finances, and the community as a whole. “We’re encouraged by the community’s interest and excited to continue bringing solar to families who need it most when they need it most,” said Ginny Walton from the Town of Mansfield.
Solar for All is a nationally-recognized program that has helped the state achieve solar parity where solar homes are just as likely in below average incomes homes as in above average income homes. PosiGen’s lease program covers the full cost of installing, maintaining and insuring the solar system, with no credit score requirement and no equipment to buy.
The campaign welcomes interested parties to visit the campaign website to sign up for a free assessment, check out customer testimonials, and listen to a 30-minute informational webinar.
