[ARCHIVED] Drainage and Paving on Chaffeeville Road

In the next month, the Department of Public Works will be installing drainage pipe and structures on a portion of Chaffeeville Road from Mulberry Road to Gurleyville Road.  There may be times when the road will be closed during the day in order to install pipe across the road.  During those times no thru traffic will be allowed, local traffic only.  School bus and trash service will have access.  Following the completion of all the drainage work, the Department of Public Works will resurface this section of Chaffeeville Road.   The paving work is scheduled to be done in the summer.  A contractor hired by the Town will grind and grade the roadway in preparation of new asphalt.  After final grading is complete, a contractor hired by the Town will apply two new layers of asphalt to the street surface.  Any required curbing will be installed and driveway aprons will be repaired or installed, as required.  We will place topsoil in any disturbed lawn areas and use hydro-seeding to re-establish any turf.  This portion of the work will occur a few weeks after all paving is complete.  We ask that you do not park on the road from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, during this effort. You will always have access to your driveway. However, when the equipment is directly in front of your driveway, access may be restricted for a few minutes. Please drive with caution during the course of this work.
