The 17th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield will be Saturday, June 4, 2022.
Join us for a fun day of cycling and camaraderie as you explore Mansfield by bicycle!
The 17th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield will feature two routes, a 20-mile and a 40-mile route, both of which begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road). Cyclists are welcome to choose the route which best fits their comfort level. Following the ride, everyone is invited to enjoy lunch together outside of the Community Center. Lunch is included with registration.
We've partnered with Joshua's Trust to offer a new feature this year! There will be an optional stop at the historic Gurleyville Grist Mill. Docents from Joshua's Trust will lead mini-tours of the mill, a stone water-powered mill built in 1830.
The property offers a unique opportunity to observe rural 19th century gristmill technology. The only stone mill of its kind in Connecticut, it contains a complete system of preserved milling equipment. This is not a restoration; here visitors see the equipment as it was operated over many decades and to the middle of the 20th century.
Tour de Mansfield participants can choose to stop, take part in a tour, and enjoy a rest on the benches and lawn with a peaceful view of the Fenton River. (The site also makes for great photo ops!)
Registration is required for all participants in the John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield.
Registration is now open! Register here. Find the Tour under "Events/Trips."
Register by June 1: $30
Register after June 1 or on the day of: $35

The registration fee covers lunch, snacks, and ride support. The first 100 riders to sign in on June 4 will receive a commemorative t-shirt.

ABOUT JOHN JACKMAN
The Tour is named in honor of former Fire Marshal and Mansfield resident John E. Jackman. John served the Town of Mansfield for twenty-seven years, was an avid cyclist, and was instrumental in creating the Tour de Mansfield. He was always pleased to see so many cyclists participate in this event. John's passion for bicycling inspired many to start riding and, through the Thread City Cyclers club, he made many deep and lasting friendships.
John died peacefully at home on August 8, 2013 at the age of 58 after a long battle with cancer. In naming this event in honor of John, we celebrate his contributions to cycling and the Town of Mansfield.
