Multi-family Trash/Recycle Service

Trash and recycling service is franchised in the Town of Mansfield. All owners of multi-family residential property (defined as two units or more) must either sign-up for service through the Town by calling 860.429.3333 or self-haul to the Mansfield transfer station. The Town offers multi-family owners a direct incentive to promote recycling. There are two types of multi-family collection service – dumpster service and individual cart service.

Bulky Waste (oversized items, construction material, demolition debris) is not collected through town service.


Dumpster Service

Collection service is charged by the size and numbers of trash and recycle dumpsters. Recyclables are either collected in separate 95 gallon containers or recycle dumpsters. The more residents recycle, the lower your trash bill.

Cart Service

Collection service is charged by the size and number of cans selected. Choose from one of the service levels. Collection for both trash and recyclables is once per week. Pick-up of recyclables is included in the refuse fee. Billing is sent out quarterly.

20 Gallon Can Service:
$14.75/month - Weekly collection of one 20 gallon trash can and one 64 gallon recycling can per dwelling unit.
35 Gallon Can Service:
$19.25/month - Weekly collection of one 35 gallon trash can and one 64 gallon recycling can per dwelling unit
64 Gallon Can Service:
$30.00/month - Weekly collection of one 64 gallon trash can and one 64 gallon recycling can per dwelling unit
96 Gallon Can Service:
$40.00/month - Weekly collection of one 96 gallon trash can and one 64 gallon recycling can per dwelling unit
