Accessibility
It is our goal to provide an environment where all individuals feel welcomed and encouraged to participate in fitness and leisure activities. The following ameneties and accesibility features are available at the Mansfield Community Center. Please feel free to visit and request a tour.
Personal Care Assistants and aides are welcome to accompany patrons into the facility at no charge, provided they are participating only as an aide and are not using the facility independently.
Both pools are equipped with a chair-lift system to assist swimmers into and out of the water. Lifeguard staff are prepared to operate the lifts upon request. Staff are not able to assist with transferring to/from the lifts.
Main Pool
Larger stairs are available in the Main Pool during General Swim times. Stairs are not available during times when the entire pool is designated for lap swimming. Chairs lifts are available during these times. Reference the Main Pool Schedule here.
Therapy Pool (92-94 degrees)
The Therapy Pool has designated time for specialized classes, aquatic physical therapy through Select Physical Therapy, therapeutic use, and family swim. This pool provides a warmer more comfortable environment for those with therapeutic needs, such as arthritis, chronic joint pain and fatigue, and individuals needing rehabilitation for injuries. The Fitness Center includes a variety of equipment that can be used for a variety of ability levels.
Free weights are available in varied increments from 1 to 100 lbs.
Medicine balls, therapy bands, foam rollers, and bosu balls are available.
Functional Trainer.
Specialized Arm Bike with removable seat for wheelchair access.
Walkers are permitted on the Track. One loop of the track is equivalent to 1/19th of a mile.
Ability Fitness class is available on a seasonal basis.
Four of the basketball hoops are adjustable to heights between 8 and 10 ft.
Each gender-specific locker room offers one accessible shower and changing stall and one accessible restroom stall.
The three Family Changing Rooms each offer an accessible shower and restroom option. The Family Changing hallway offers push-button door access to the Aquatics Center.
