The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) advises Town Council and key staff on solid waste policies. These policies include issues relating to residential refuse and recycling services, transfer station operations, promotion of recycling, composting and waste prevention, hazardous waste disposal and bulky waste disposal.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee shall:
- Evaluate the solid waste fund budget and recommend user fee changes to the Mansfield Resource Recovery Authority;
- Recommend to the Town Council policies and operations that support waste reduction, recycling, composting and proper hazardous waste disposal; and
- Assist the Recycling Coordinator in educating the community.
