This committee is charged with maintaining a general overview of the sustainability of the town to include providing guidance to the Town Council regarding sustainability principles to be adopted, monitor implementation of principles as adopted, collaborate with town boards and commissions to advance sustainability principles and policies and seek information from other organizations to aid in the development of programs and initiatives that will further the sustainability goals established. Each individual volunteer represents one of three perspectives: environmental protection, economic vitality or social justice within the context of sustainability.
C-PACE (Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy) is an innovative financing program that helps commercial, industrial, non-profit and multi-family property owners get affordable, long-term financing for green energy upgrades to their buildings. With C-PACE, building owners enjoy the advantages of energy upgrades immediately and pay for them over time through a voluntary assessment on their property tax bill.
