Notifications of Closings/Delays
If it becomes necessary to close or delay school for inclement weather or other reasons:
- The decision will be made by the Superintendent on the basis of the best information available.
- Announcements (notifications) as to the closing of school will be made via:
- Phone
- The District will use School Messenger to send a phone message announcing school closings/delayed openings/early closings to parents using the "Contact 1" and "Contact 2" phone numbers provided by parents/guardians to each school.
- In most cases, the District will also send a SMS text message as well to parents using the "Contact 1" and "Contact 2" phone numbers provided by parents/guardians to each school. However, you must also do a one-time "accept" to allow your cell phone to receive the text messages by doing the following: Send a text message to 67587 from your cell phone(s) and type in the word “yes” in the ‘compose message’ or ‘text message’ field.
