The Human Resources Department's mission is to develop and manage value-added human resources policies and programs, and provide expert consultation, services and solutions in an efficient and customer-focused manner; and to provide our employees with the tools necessary to meet our customer's needs. The Human Resources Department consists of three staff members who perform a variety of professional level HR services to a number of different entities. The Department is staffed with the Assistant Town Manager who serves as the Director of Human Resources, an HR Specialist, and a Senior Wellness Specialist. The department is supplemented with the Mansfield Husky Program, which is the Town's collaborative work-study program with the University of Connecticut.
The department provides services, advice and consultation in the areas of: compensation, classification, benefits, talent acquisition, safety & risk management, training & organizational development, employee & labor relations, and policy development & compliance. The department also works collaboratively with the personnel committee in administering and updating the Town's personnel rules.
