CAMP MANSFIELD 2023

We make happy campers!

Camp Mansfield is a traditional outdoor summer day camp with a wide variety of activities for camper’s age 4½ to 15 years old! Camp Mansfield is held on the grounds of Mansfield Middle School, Schoolhouse Brook Park and Bicentennial Pond. Camp is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 26 this year. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, canoeing/kayaking, nature and science activities, sports, variety block (counselors & campers choice), free swim, swim activity, camp songs and themed special event weeks. Campers are separated into groups based on the grade they will be entering in the fall. All campers must be potty trained and be able to follow the camp rules of safe and positive behavior for themselves and others to participate. The camp runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. rain or shine. 3 daily lunch choices are included in the camp fee for full day campers. Extended “Camp Care” is available before and after the regular camp day to campers for an additional fee.

General Camp Information 

  • Camp Mansfield is a traditional outdoor summer day camp with a wide variety of activities for campers in grades K - 8th grade.
  • Camp Mansfield is held on the grounds of Mansfield Middle School, Schoolhouse Brook Park and Bicentennial Pond.
  • On a inclement weather day camp will be held inside Mansfield Middle School.
  • Activities include archery, arts and crafts, canoeing/kayaking, creative games, nature/environmental activities, sports, science, free swim and camp songs. 
  • Weekly themes, wacky Wednesdays. An example of a Wacky Wednesday would be dress up like your favorite pirate or princess during Pirates and Princess’s week. 
  • Campers are separated into groups based on the grade they will be entering in the fall. 
  • Camp runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. rain or shine.
  • 3 daily lunch choices are included in the camp fee for full day campers.

Campers with Special Needs—campers who require additional support or adaptations will participate inclusively within their same age/grade.  Special assistance forms must be completed a minimum of 15 working days prior to the start of a new session (forms available online).

Camp Registrations

The first one week camp session will run June 26 – June 30 and conclude with session 8 the week of August 14 - 18.
All campers must be preregistered and have completed registration and health forms on file

No walk up registrations will be permitted. No rolling registrations during the camp season will be permitted. Registrations for each session must be completed by the Wednesday in advance of the next session

Camper Sign-in & Sign-Out

Drop off and pick up will be at Mansfield Middle School Gym Area near portable classrooms. 
Only staff, members, registered participants and guardians (if deemed necessary by staff) will be permitted into the camp area for drop offs..

Staff

  • Our staff are former campers, high school students, college students and recreational professionals.
  • Camp staff are certified in First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Red Cross.
  • Camp staff are certified in Blood Borne Pathogens and epipen and inhaler administration. 
  • Camp staff is also required to attend pre-camp trainings on topics including child development, safety, positive disciplining, leadership and teamwork.
  • Camp staff is required to attend General Covid Training.

Capacity Limitations

Camp ratios for grades will not exceed K-1 (1:10), 2-8 (1:15). Typical ratios are 1:8 for grade K-1, 1;10 or grades 2-6 and 1:12 for grades 7&8.  Groups/pods/cohorts will meet the latest guidance of the OEC.   Adjustments will be made for indoors in accordance with OED protocols.
