CAMP MANSFIELD 2026
We make happy campers!
Camp Mansfield is a traditional outdoor summer day camp with a wide variety of activities for camper’s age 4½ to 15 years old! Camp Mansfield is held on the grounds of Mansfield Middle School, Schoolhouse Brook Park and Bicentennial Pond. Camp is tentatively scheduled to begin on June 22nd this year. (The camp start date is subject to change depending on the end date of Mansfield Public Schools). Activities include archery, arts and crafts, canoeing/kayaking, nature and science activities, sports, variety block (counselors & campers choice), free swim, swim activity, camp songs and themed special event weeks. Campers are separated into groups based on the grade they will be entering in the fall. All campers must be potty trained and be able to follow the camp rules of safe and positive behavior for themselves and others to participate. The camp runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. rain or shine. 3 daily lunch choices are included in the camp fee for full day campers. Extended “Camp Care” is available before and after the regular camp day to campers for an additional fee.

General Camp Information
- Camp Mansfield is a traditional outdoor summer day camp with a wide variety of activities for campers in grades K - 8th grade.
- Camp Mansfield is held on the grounds of Mansfield Middle School, Schoolhouse Brook Park and Bicentennial Pond.
- On a inclement weather day camp will be held inside Mansfield Middle School.
- Activities include archery, arts and crafts, canoeing/kayaking, creative games, nature/environmental activities, sports, science, free swim and camp songs.
- Weekly themes, wacky Wednesdays. An example of a Wacky Wednesday would be dress up like your favorite pirate or princess during Pirates and Princess’s week.
- Campers are separated into groups based on the grade they will be entering in the fall.
- Camp runs Monday – Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. rain or shine.
- 3 daily lunch choices are included in the camp fee for full day campers.
Campers with Special Needs—campers who require additional support or adaptations will participate inclusively within their same age/grade. Special assistance forms must be completed a minimum of 15 working days prior to the start of a new session (forms available online).
Camp Registrations
The first week of camp (Session 1) will run June 22 – June 26 and conclude with Session 8 the week of August 10 - 14.
All campers must be preregistered and have completed registration and health forms on file
No walk up registrations will be permitted. No rolling registrations during the camp season will be permitted. Registrations for each session must be completed by the Wednesday in advance of the next session
Camper Sign-in & Sign-Out
Drop off and pick up will be at Mansfield Middle School Gym Area near portable classrooms.
Only staff, members, registered participants and guardians (if deemed necessary by staff) will be permitted into the camp area for drop offs..
Staff
- Our staff are former campers, high school students, college students and recreational professionals.
- Camp staff are certified in First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Red Cross.
- Camp staff are certified in Blood Borne Pathogens and epipen and inhaler administration.
- Camp staff is also required to attend pre-camp trainings on topics including child development, safety, positive disciplining, leadership and teamwork.
- Camp staff is required to attend General Covid Training.
Capacity Limitations
Camp ratios will not exceed 1 staff member per 9 kids ages 6 years and younger, 1 staff member per 12 for kids over 6 years old. Groups/pods/cohorts will meet the latest guidance of the OEC. Adjustments will be made for indoors in accordance with OEC protocols.
As a CT municipality, Town of Mansfield Camps are exempt of the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood License requirements for Youth Camps.

Pick Up Authorization Form. Complete one per child.
Medical Authorization Request: Complete only if relevant. Requires completion by medical provider. Must be completed and submitted at least 5 business days prior to the first day of registered camp session.
Special Assistance Form: Complete only if relevant. Must be completed and approved by Camp Director prior to registration. Must be submitted two weeks before the start of desired camp session.

KinderCamp (Grade K, 1/2 day and full day) - Special 1/2 day camp for children entering Kindergarten. Camp meets Monday - Friday from 9 a.m.-Noon. Activities include games, sports, nature, swimming and more. Daily lunch is provided. Half day campers may not participate in all camp activities due to the structure of the day.

Explorers (Grades K-6)
Our main camp group runs Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-3 p.m. for children entering grades K-6. Activities include sports and games, nature, canoeing/kayaking, swimming, archery and arts & crafts.

Counselor-In-Training- This leadership training program meets Monday - Friday. The C.I.T. program is designed to teach leadership skills in the area of child development, actively planning and group management. Maximum age is 15 and space in this program is limited.

Camp Care - Specially designed for the working parents who require additional care for their child beyond the regular camp day. Camp care hours are 7:30-9 a.m. and 3-5:30 p.m. It includes a supervised and partially structured time before and after the camp day. PM camp care is not available on the last day of camp.

Summer School Students
(Only for Mansfield Public Schools)
- Space is limited. Registration still follows a Wednesday deadline.
- These students would attend Camp for 1/2 days on Mon - Thurs, and a full day on Friday. Transportation from Summer School to camp is provided, for free. Participants will eat lunch upon arriving to camp.
- Summer School is 7/6 - 7/31 (Sessions 3 - 6).

- charge Explorer rate; Adventurers in Summer School who are unable to attend field trips and will be grouped with 6th graders on days the Adventurers are on trips.
