October 13th at 6 pm our film discussion group will be watching and talking about Drácula (1931). An alternate Spanish version of the American film that starred Bella Legosi it was made as part of Hollywood studios' attempts to make films for foreign-language audiences. Filming began on October 10, 1930 where it was shot on the same sets as Tod Browning's production of Dracula. Director George Melford watched the footage of the same day and applied what he saw to film his own version. Making it especially interesting to compare with the classic Bela Lugosi version.
